What’s more surprising is that the X6 M has up to 617 horsepower and is faster. Nonetheless, the base six-cylinder engine is quite speedy and wonderfully smooth. The X6 40i and M50i both come equipped with adaptive dampers and wheel diameters ranging from 20 to 22 inches.

Interior

That means expensive materials and soft-touch surfaces abound, and the dashboard is dominated by two huge 12.3-inch digital displays. While the instrument panel is stylish, the gauges are a jumbled mess. Fortunately, the optional head-up display is simpler. The rest of the switchgear is equally well-organized. BMW’s gesture controls are available but superfluous, allowing you to manage specific features like radio level simply by waving your hand in front of the infotainment screen.

Standard features include 16-way power-adjustable front seats, customisable ambient lighting, heated front cushions, and passive entry. While the back seat is adequate for two adults, legroom and headroom are reduced by around 2 and 3 inches, respectively, as compared to the boxier X5.
