It was first introduced in 1985 and quickly became a landmark in the Malaysian automotive industry. The first-generation Proton Saga was co-developed with Mitsubishi Motors and came in two variations. It was an instant success and garnered numerous prizes and acclaim for its design and performance. It was manufactured until 2008 and was exported all over the world due to strong demand.

Exterior
The new Proton Saga 2023 has a sleek, appealing form with curves and a round design language. The front of the automobile has Proton’s characteristic “infinite weave grille” and a front bumper. All models come standard with halogen headlamps, however, the Ace model also incorporates LED daytime running lights (DRLs).
The electric side mirrors with LED turn signal lamps on the car’s side set it apart from its competitors. The rear of the automobile is simple, with a rear bumper and a rear spoiler on the Ace variant. Another common feature offered by all Proton Saga 2023 editions is the remote trunk release.
Interior
The cabin of the new proton Saga 2023 is roomy and comfy. The steering wheel is encased in urethane and has a tilt adjustment mechanism. The Ace model also includes steering-wheel controls for audio and phone calls. An LCD-integrated metre combo with a multi-information display is located behind the steering wheel.
All proton Saga models include ECO Drive Assist, electric windows, keyless entry, a 12V power outlet, and a driver’s seat height adjuster. The Ace edition includes several extras such as a luggage lamp and three USB ports in the car.
In the Standard AT and MT models, the infotainment system is a standard audio system with two speakers and Bluetooth connectivity. The Ace edition, on the other hand, includes a 7-inch floating touchscreen, Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity, and 4 speakers. Sun visor, map lamp, and bench-style rear seat fold are standard on the Proton Saga 2023.
