The Bacalar feels exceptional even when driven conservatively. I like how my hands grip the thick-rimmed steering wheel and how quickly and smoothly this automobile accelerates. A sport exhaust gives the Bacalar a bassy undertone that joyfully revs up to a true growl — which is a good thing, considering Bentley’s W12 models sound fairly weak without amplification.
Whether I’m driving in Bentley mode or stiffening up the dampers in Sport, the 22-inch wheels look great and the low-profile tyres don’t degrade the ride quality. Oh, and despite the car’s hard existence, no creaks or rattles can be detected, a testament to Mulliner’s superb coachwork.
