Exterior
For the time being, the Hummer EV’s lone powertrain option is a setup with three electric motors producing 1000 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard, and the Hummer EV reached 60 mph in 3.3 seconds in our testing owing to its Watts to Freedom launch control driving mode. While its acceleration performance impressed us, its braking performance disappointed us.
It took an exceptionally long 211 feet to bring all of the Hummer EV’s bulk to a stop from 70 mph, and repeated runs resulted in obvious brake fade. Yikes. The Hummer EV’s maneuverability at low speeds is better than expected, thanks to the rear-wheel steering system, but once you’re up and going, it’s just as awkward to drive as other elevated brodozers.

Interior
Unlike previous Hummers, which were mostly SUVs, the Hummer EV is a crew cab pickup truck with a five-foot-long bed. Given the Hummer’s price, interior materials could be of higher quality, and the cabin isn’t as big as GMC’s Sierra crew cab pickup truck. The cabin, on the other hand, may be opened to the elements thanks to a revolutionary removable roof that reintroduces a T-top-Esque style prominent in GM sports and muscle vehicles in the 1970s and 1980s.
When in place, the translucent panels function similarly to a standard panoramic glass sunroof, but removing them and storing them in the Hummer EV’s front trunk gives the truck a convertible feel similar to the Jeep Gladiator.
