The 2022 Carnival is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine producing 290 horsepower; an eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. Unfortunately, an all-wheel drive will not be available, since the Carnival will only be available in front-wheel drive. The SX-Prestige specification level adds leather upholstery as well as reclining second-row seats with pop-up footrests.

While these “VIP Seats” provide a peaceful way for passengers to pass the time on a lengthy road trip, they cannot be removed or packed on the floor like competing minivans, limiting the Carnival’s maximum baggage space. A panoramic sunroof is available as an option, providing a big aperture above the second row for the kids to get some fresh air.
